Sport at KGS plays a central role in the life of all students and will hopefully provide some of the fondest memories in their time at the school. Whether that be competing for the 1st team in a National Final, joining an overseas tour, making their school debut or trying a games option for the very first time, we look to provide the highest quality sporting opportunity and experience for all our students.
We aim to provide a sporting option for everyone to enjoy and hope to inspire students, and staff, to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle both at KGS and beyond. We fully believe in the physical, social and wellbeing benefits that sport can provide, as well as contributing to positive results in the classroom.
For those striving for success within sport, we enter a number of National Competitions, play on a varied and competitive fixture list, run a fully active sports scholarship and mentoring programme, all overseen by our highly qualified and talented sports department. We are keen to build upon the fantastic sporting history of KGS, whilst also continuing to offer memorable experiences at every level.
We are very proud of our sporting home down at Ditton Field, with 2 hockey astros, 4 cricket squares, 6 netball courts, 8 tennis courts, 4 football pitches and a superbly located boathouse providing our students with access to top level sports facilities. We would happily welcome you down to see for yourself, but please also look on our sport specific links and dedicated sports website – sport.kgs.org.uk - for further information.
